just posting this up for critique im kinda kicking myself a bit on the yellow drop shadow idea (doesnt look so harsh to the naked eye). the guy i painted this for was very thrilled by it so the overall result isnt bad.
im pinned to the wall so start throwing those tomatoes... :)

Im not a big fan of the yellow, looks a little too drab to me.
For the white streaked tribal I would suggest a very subtle fade in your darker color around the top edge of your flame, this gives the streaks a softer look to them, Mel does this very very well.
I mentioned how dialed I thought the G was on tiltyard, I think you should do a tutorial on that effect, it is really cool.
The flow of the designs works perfectly with the contours of the body, only thing I can suggest is to "pull" the licks out further so that they end up narrower and sharper, but thats just my opinion.

drop shadow in the yellow, not as harsh in real life.... can you even see it then? :)
hard to tell from the pics, but more pronounced bevels would be good and less of a contrast between the edge of the tribal and the center. think there are some bevel tuts. on the site here somewhere. lidz and mel are a couple good ones for those. :)
overall its a nice idea and a good color scheme.
its always nice when a customer returns for aanother one. im sure he will, so be ready for round with the things mentioned put into consideration.

Thanks for the feedback.
Mike: when i do the effect again i will shoot a tutorial of it i didnt post a closeup of the g because it has some errant cuts on it, i was thinking to use the scratches in a larger shading idea but abandoned the idea at the last moment. with that disclaimer here is the pic
cellphone cameras take such clear pictures (not)
Jon: For the pins i just did a simple effect where i cut it out, then striped it with gold and followed with black was going for a reflective type thing but not a full on bevel.
Thanks again for the comments they will be put to good use.
